About Registered Training Organisations in Australia: All RTO’s (Registered Training Organisations) in Australia are regulated by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA). As a requirement of registration, RTOs must follow the standards described in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) Quality Framework, which is a system of legislative requirements designed to ensure that the quality of training outcomes in the Australian vocational education sector are maintained, and to also protect the rights of all students in Australia – both local and international. ASQA’s role as an agency of the Australian government is to ensure that all Registered Training Organisations adhere to the standards and requirements of the VET Quality Framework. ASQA is able to impose stiff penalties on providers found guilty of non-compliance, including hefty fines and prison terms. Consequently, students attending a Registered Training Organisation in Australia such as AITI can be assured that they have the weight of the Australian Commonwealth Legal System looking out for their interests!
